In Your Hands. . .

This morning I awakened to a cloudy, overcast morning with a slight drizzle.  I awakened with the thoughts of our Christmas Cafe dancing in my head.  I awakened with the assurance that I had another moment to breath.  I awakened with the thoughts of friends who are near & dear to me – some new, some old, some re-visited and others yet to be discovered.

During worship this morning, we sang a song entitled "In Your Hands" by Reuben Morgan.  Our worship pastor led us to Romans 8:38-39For I am convinced that neither death nor life. . .nothing below us or above us or anything in this world can can take us out of God's Hands. Sometimes we don't feel happiness.  Sometimes we aren't joyful, BUT and its a big BUT nothing can take that joy from us because it is from God.  Our happiness can be stolen from us, BUT not our JOY!  How many times do we forget that?  Everyday for me!

This morning as the lights were dimmed and we sang the song, my eyes jumped from person to person.  Some you where their hurting, others it is hidden.  For some, their children want nothing to do with the parents.  For some, the parents want everything to do with their kids, but the courts won't allow it.  What about the single person who longs for husband or a wife, and yet still comes up empty?  What about those rocked by marriage or divorce problems?  What about those who are dealing with the death of a loved one?  The chorus says:

"So close I believe
You're holding me now In Your hands I belong
 You'll never let me go
 So close I believe
You're holding me now In Your hands I belong
 You'll never let me go"

Remember that God is right there holding us – we are safe in His Hands.  May this be a day when we remember how precious & special & beautiful we are.
