Do I stand out?
A couple of years ago I sat down and took the StrengthsFinder survey and after about 170 questions out popped my strengths. Recently, I picked up the book StrengthsFinder 2.0 by Tom Rath and decided to take the newly revised Strengths Survey again to see if life and the direction I felt I was heading had any influence on my strengths. Low and behold, my strengths were pretty close to the first time around with a couple of shuffling of strengths which makes me realize that these latest strengths that surfaced were probably there all along, but just hidden based on the age and stage of where I was in life.

Here were my strengths the first time around:
This time around here is what surfaced:
As I ponder the lists, I can see that the things which are important to me right now are the “Relator” and “Learner” strengths. This makes perfect sense since I have been on a reading and listening frenzy, and as for relationships – I love meeting with people and seeing how they are doing and looking for the potential that lies within them. As for the strengths of “Maximizer”, “Positivity”, and “Strategic” – they are still present and contribute mightily to how I relate and learn these days viewing most situations optimistically and with a visionary component.
Who knows what the next time will reveal, but for now I have my hands full of understanding my growth right now.
