Just got back from Agape Tour 2009 – check out the adventures!
Just read a great article on Matt Mullenweg in Inc Magazine regarding his work as founder of Automattic.
I have been off the blogging grid for a bit as I have just taken a bit to rest — its been incredibly busy w/work and church activities. Sometimes you just need to refresh!
At work — I am a strategist, coach, counselor, designer, futurist, reseacher, communicator and now pandemic monitor. With the H1N1 influenza strain pushing further around the world, the need for information and keeping up with things is important. I have unofficially taken this on. . . but its amazing how many great resources there are out there. The CDC, HHS, WHO, Pandemic Flu & many others. Here is today’s update for those who are curious.
If you love reading books like I do, you might covet the Amazon Kindle. I was fortunate enough to have one given to me as a gift & I love it. Amazon announced today that a larger screen version is due out in summer hitting the textbook market especially. Enjoy these pics!
Nancy Duarte, of famed Duarte Design, has some killer posts on their blog. Here’s a few highlights:
Not sure where I’m headed with this thought, but I have been pondering what it means to be significant & what that looks like?
Thoughts?
Not the kind the cars do that is super cool, but the drifting we do in our spiritual lives. Today, I find myself reflecting on a much needed day off about where I have been & where I am going. I know, deep. It seems that mistakes in my past are catching up with me. I wonder can the God who sees all & hears all give me just a little more grace to get me through what I am going through.
The answer is yes, but that doesn’t mean He will. It’s hard to believe Mini-Tour was one weekend ago already. This time last week I as hurriedly grabbing my sleeping bag, pillow, stuff & throwing it under a bus to head out for the weekend. Today is different.
Sometimes I just need to reflect & move forward. We aren’t proud of all the mistakes we’ve made – how we’ve spent our money, what we’ve said to whom & when we’ve said it and probably most troubling is how we have talked to God or sometimes the lack there of.
Well, today is a new day of the month & a new opportunity to re-focus on what lies ahead. I guess that is a good use of my time.
Our very own Jon Nungester is famous, sort of. This was featured on Ben Arment’s blog (Catalyst West Director) — Great Job w/the event — it was AWESOME!.

The Noticer by Andy Andrews is a compelling book that details the journeys of a man simply known as “Jones” or “Garcia” or “Chen”. From a distance, this unassuming character seems to appear when people need him most & then move on to the next person. The journey of Jones takes us into the life of Andy & several other character each with similiar stories involving Jones. Jones, by self-proclamation, is a “Noticer”. He helps guide each of the characters into a new perspective – a different perspective. Stories of Jones sightings fill a local coffee shop after he has “left the scene”. Sometimes we just need a little perspective.
This book is an incredible book of seeing things from a different point of view. So many times we don’t see the significant people in our lives until they have left. Andy has this incredible way of hitting you where you need to be hit. A classic quote from the book is:
Remember, whatever you focus upon, increases.
Sometimes we become stale in our growth & we need others to help guide us – to play “Jones” – to us. How can we grow? We need to ask.
What is it about me that other people would change if they could?
This book has radically changed how I view people & will view people. It is a growth step. This book needs to be on everyone’s shelf. I loved it.
